Readiing Intervention
I graduated from Mt.Pleasnt High School in 1988.
I recieved my Bachelors degree for Elementary Education from Texas A & M-Commerce in 1997.
I recieceved my Masters degree for Educationak Administration from Texas A&M-Commerce in 2007.
I began my teaching career in Paris, Texas in 1997.
I taught pre-k there for two years at T.G. Givens Elementary School.
Then, in 1999 I transferred to Mt.Pleasant,Texas where I began teaching self-contained third grade at Corprew Intermediate. The following five years I taught third and fourth grade Art. Which I enjoyed very much.
After that, in 2005 Corprew became 1 out of 4 Elementary's in Mt.Pleasant. So, for the next five years I taught self-contained kindergarten. Which made my life very interesting , because in Kindergarten every day is a new adventure. And nothing is more precious then seeing a child's face light up when they have learned something new.
Then, for the last four years I have taught self-contained first grade. And first grade is full of first times as well, reading being one of them. I absolutely love reading and it is so rewarding as a teacher to help a child learn to read. Because, once a child learns to read you open up a whole new world for them.
"And oh, the places they can go" (Dr.Seuss) , once they are able to read.
