This is my 12th year at The Bluff, and it is my fifth year as the Dean of Students. I love it here for so many reasons and there isn’t anywhere else I’d like to call home. GO BEARS!!
For the seven years prior to my current position, I was Sulphur Bluff’s First Grade teacher. The families and students that I’ve gotten to know and love are treasures and I will forever cherish my years with them. I am very thankful that I get to work with many of those students and their families all over again as an administrator.
During my Intern and Residency years of college, I worked in 2nd Grade with Mrs. Kim Moore at Travis Elementary, at Sulphur Springs ISD, and in 4th Grade with Mrs. Kathy McDonald at Lamar Elementary, also at Sulphur Springs ISD. I was a substitute teacher for SSISD for three years as well. I completed several long-term sub positions, including one in Head Start 3, two in Kindergarten, and one in 5th Grade.
I am married to Michael Russell and we have a twelve-year-old daughter named Kennley Jo and a six-year-old wild boy named Clifton. I’m sure you will see both of them running around the halls of The Bluff at some point! Together, we have two dogs, Trevor and Bear!
I enjoy spending as much time with family and friends as I can. I also like to read and learn about God.
