Endorsements – Choices

Sulphur Bluff ISD offers a variety of endorsement options.  Students are able to earn endorsements as part of their graduation requirements. Endorsements consist of a related series of courses that are grouped together by interest or skill set.  They provide students with in-depth knowledge of a subject area.  Students must select an endorsement prior to entering their ninth grade year.  Districts and charters are not required to offer all endorsements.  If only one endorsement is offered, it must be multi-disciplinary studies. 

Minimum Requirement – Two courses from your endorsement area.  The last course in your coherent sequence must be the course in bold print  in your endorsement area list.  Your other electives may come from any endorsement area but are subject to availability. Sulphur Bluff ISD endorsement options are as follows.

    • 9th – Principles of Manufacturing
    • 10th – Welding
    • 11th – Precision Metal Manufacturing
    • 12th – Advanced Welding (2 periods)

    • 9th – Principles of Business, Marketing, and Finance
    • 10th – BIM 1
    • 11th – BIM 2
    • 12th – Global Business/Business Management

    • 9th – Principles of AFNR
    • 10th – Horticulture or Livestock Product/Small Animal Management or Equine Science
    • 11th – Professional Communications
    • 12th – Advanced Animal Science

    • 9th – Principles of Human Services
    • 10th – Family and Comm Services/Child Development
    • 11th – Professional Communications
    • 12th – Child Guidance

    • 4 Theater Courses or 4 Yearbook Courses

    • 9th – Spanish I
    • 10th – Spanish II
    • 11th – Year 1 of a 2nd Foreign Language
    • 12th – Year 2 of a 2nd Foreign Language

  • You are open to select electives from any endorsement area.  All electives are subject to availability.

    • Your 4th English must be English IV.
    • You must complete 4 Social Studies credits.
    • You must complete 4 Science credits, and one must be Chemistry or Physics.
    • You must complete 4 Math credits, and one must be Algebra II.

    • 5 courses in Math or Science – the last two are upper level.
